Reborned by Master Artist Stephanie Ortiz of nlovewithreborns2011. As the artist of this doll, what I did on this silicone doll was paint, matte, and seal the doll with silicone paints, sealers, and powders.

Due to the manufactory process of this silicone doll:
There is a visible seam that runs longitudinally down the body of the doll. 
There is a pour spot on the top of her head that is very visible (please see photo for reference). The pour spot exists because of the way the liquid silicone was poured into the mold during the manufacturing process.
 
Painting Details: 
Painted with silicone paints and sealed with a silicone velvet matting powder.

This doll has been particularly sealed twice with silicone powder.
 
DISCLOSURE:
     This silicone doll is a factory-manufactured silicone piece. During the manufacturing process, silicone oil is commonly added to the silicone to aid in molding, silicone softness, silicone squishiness, curing, and demolding. As a result, residual silicone oil may remain within the silicone material - and with time, gets pushed to the surface of the doll.
 
     It's also important to note that the usage of silicone oil is not exclusive to large-scale factory production. Some independent silicone artists also incorporate silicone oil into their formulations to achieve specific tactile qualities, such as increased softness or flexibility. I've had my own silicone oil encounters with silicone dolls from private high end well known silicone artists. While this practice can enhance realism, it may also influence surface behavior, including paint adhesion and long-term durability.
 
     Due to the presence of silicone oil, paint, pigments, and matte or sealing layers cannot permanently bond to the silicone surface in the same way they would to oil-free or platinum silicone that has not been treated with additives.
 
     While professional techniques and materials are used to achieve the best possible adhesion, no paint or sealer can be guaranteed to remain permanent on silicone that contains internal silicone oil. Based on current research and industry knowledge, there is no method to fully prevent this issue other than manufacturing the silicone without the use of silicone oil from the beginning—a factor outside the artist’s control.
 
     Over time and with handling, color fading, surface sheen return, and lifting or breakdown of the matte layer should be expected. This is a natural characteristic of factory-produced silicone dolls and does not indicate improper painting or sealing techniques.

By purchasing this doll, the buyer acknowledges and accepts the inherent limitations of painted factory silicone and understands that paint durability cannot be guaranteed.
 
 
Care & Handling Guidelines: 
     Proper care can help slow paint fading and matting wear, but it cannot prevent it entirely due to the nature of factory-produced silicone.
Handle with care: Limit frequent handling. Oils from human skin can accelerate color fading and surface sheen.
Avoid friction: Repeated rubbing, tight clothing, diapers, wraps, or textured fabrics can wear down paint and matte layers over time.
No harsh products: Do not use alcohol, solvents, wipes, acetone, baby wipes, or household cleaners on the silicone.
Gentle cleaning only: If cleaning is necessary, use distilled water and a soft cloth. Pat dry—do not rub.
Avoid heat and sunlight: Keep the doll away from direct sunlight, heaters, or high temperatures, as heat can draw silicone oil to the surface and increase paint breakdown.
No powders unless approved: Only use artist-recommended silicone-safe matting powders if instructed. Overuse can dull or lift paint.
Storage matters: Store the doll unclothed or in loose, light-colored garments. Avoid dark fabrics that may transfer dye.
Do not attempt repairs: Repainting, resealing, or matting by the owner may cause additional lifting or damage.
 
     Please note that matting loss, shine return, and gradual fading are normal and expected characteristics of painted factory silicone dolls, even with proper care.
